If you are planning to install Solar (PV) panels, you will probably need an EPC
Do you need an Energy Performance Certificate for your office, shop, warehouse or other commercial property? Contact Andrew Amos Commercial EPC Assessor. I can provide the EPC you need
Installing Solar PV to reduce your energy bills
Solar (photovoltaic or PV) panels harness the rays of the sun to generate electricity. This can be utilised within the property to reduce or remove the need to buy electricity from the National Grid.

Financial benefits for owners and occupiers
The Feed-In Tariff (FIT) is a (modest) financial incentive payable to the owner of the PV panels. The FIT varies according to the size and the date of the PV installation, and is fixed (plus inflation) for 20 years. Since the present government is reducing this financial incentive over a continuing period, the main value of the PV is the savings that will be made on the electricity costs over the life of the installation. This is usually around 35 years for commercial installations.

Technical and bureaucratic obstacles
Those contemplating installing Solar PV will have to expect much discussion with installers, power suppliers and government bodies relating not only to electricity but also building matters. The least of the obstacles will be obtaining an EPC (which is likely to be required if the building is commercial). I can provide an EPC swiftly, when required.
"Andrew did what he said and when he said. He provided an EPC on our new industrial units. He also provided helpful advice at the design stage and with the installation of a photovoltaic roof. Will certainly use his services again."
